Cause 1Dispenser Control Board

If the refrigerator display appears completely dead, it's possible the dispenser control board has failed. You should inspect the board for any burn marks and replace it if it appears damaged.

Ensure plug is tightly pushed into electrical outlet and outlet is supplying power. Check fuses or circuit breaker if needed. It is best to have the refrigerator on a separate dedicated circuit. If the refrigerator is connected to a ground fault receptacle it may need to be plugged into a regular receptacle. Using a ground fault receptacle for a refrigerator is not recommended.

The wires from the control panel to the control board may be loose or have become disconnected. Make sure the wire harness connectors are tight. A damaged wire harness will need to be replaced.

Cause 7Control Panel Is Locked Out

Many refrigerators will have a child lock or “Sabbath” feature which will prevent the buttons from being used when the feature is engaged. The refrigerator could also be in “Demo” mode or another mode which prevents full operation. Consult the refrigerator’s user manual for information regarding locking/unlocking the control panel.

Verify the freezer temperature is set between 0 and 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 to -15 Celsius). Verify the refrigerator temperature is set between 34 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit (1 to 5 Celsius). After reseting the temperature wait 24 hours for the temperature to adjust appropriately.
