The control board sends power to the freezer components. If the control board has power to it but the display is dead or the buttons are not responding, the control is likey bad and will need to be replaced.
When the temperature control board buttons are not responding but the freezer has power to it, the temperature control board is likely bad and will need to be replaced.
If the control display is lit but the buttons will not work or the display is dead, yet you've determined power is reaching the freezer, the user control and display board is likely bad and will need to be replaced.
A damaged or severed power cord will be unable to provide power to the freezer. Inspect the power cord for damage. You can test the cord for power with a multimeter to determine if it is capable of providing sufficient voltage.
Confirm the freezer is plugged in and there is power at the wall outlet. You can plug another small appliance into the outlet to confirm there is power. If there is no power, check the home circuit breakers or fuses. If the freezer is plugged into a circuit that has a ground fault interrupt, try resetting the outlet. Most manufacturers do not recommend using a ground fault outlet on a freezer.
