Cause 1Incoming Power Problem

Confirm the freezer is plugged in and there is power at the wall outlet (another small appliance can be plugged into the outlet to confirm there is power). If there is no power, check the home circuit breakers or fuses. Although most manufacturers do not recommend using a ground fault outlet for a freezer, if the power cord is plugged into one, try resetting the outlet.

Cause 2Indicator Light

The indicator light may have burned out. Before replacing the indicator light, check for broken wires or detached connections to the indicator light.

Cause 3User Control and Display Board

The user control and display board might be defective. However, this is rarely the case. First, check the indicator light to determine if it is burned out. If the indicator light is not burned out, but the light still doesn’t work, the user control and display board might need to be replaced.
